Through
Cornwall With A Camera An Artist's Pilgrimage Amongst Miners And Methodists Author:
Henry Hawkins This is a quite rare book and captures the West of Cornwall as it was at the turn of the 20th century. Not only does the author capture the famous landscapes of the west, he also captures photographs of everyday people & places. Places I recognize, such as Hellesveor Chapel & Amalebra Cottage that once belonged to my great grandmother Catherine Berryman. Perhaps a place relating to your ancestor is shown amongst the many photos. These are not the typical photographs of the seaside often found in books about Cornwall, the inland is covered equally. However it is not just about the photographs, this book has descriptive and informative text detailing all the area of Penwith as well as the Lizard and a bit about Falmouth. There are also two very interesting chapters on "The Antiquities of Cornwall" and on "The Jews In Cornwall".
