Cornish
Grammar And Supplement
Author: Hal Wyn
Copyright: 1927
Description: 115
pages. This is a must for all students of the Cornish language, a classic.
This book can be thought of as a
supplement to Henry Jenner's Handbook of the Cornish Language. Hal
Wyn was the pen name of Ralph St Vincent Allin-Collins, and like
Jenner he too claimed he was taught Cornish whilst it was still a living
language. Like Jenner and Nance, Hal Wyn was also made a Bard of the
Cornish Gorsedd. Both Jenner and Nance contributed to this work by Hal Wyn
which was privately printed by the author in a very limited number, hence
its scarcity these days.
The book is comprised of a series of
short stories, broken down with glossary and grammar for each as well as
exercises for the student of the language. Because of the poor print
quality we had to scan this book at 600DPI and do a lot of manual editing
to get nice enough quality, the book is fully searchable in Adobe Acrobat
to make it easy to locate the exact word you are looking for, much easier
to use than the expensive original if you could locate a copy.
